Mil-STD 810 is a United States Department of Defense Environmental Test Standard for military products such as tourniquets. The test exposes equipment to environmental stressors to identify deficiencies and defects. In this study the OMNA Marine Tourniquets 1" Marine Ratcheting Buckle, and the M2 1" ratcheting buckle were tested and compared. Results: the OMNA 1" Marine Ratcheting Buckle had no visible corrosion, whereas the M2 ratcheting buckle had significant corrosion. Therefore, the OMNA 1" Marine Ratcheting Buckles possess superior corrosion resistance properties when exposed to saltwater and marine environments.
